H2nanO was founded to evolve promising nanotechnology into valuable environmental solutions. Our team is determined bridge the gap from disruptive advances in nano-science to practical, economical and sustainable solutions for industry.
We bring a strong network of leaders, creators, advisors, investors and supporters to further this mission.
Tim has extensive experience in nanoparticle design and application through work with Dr. Gu's research group since 2009, and leads H2nanO’s R&D for water treatment. Tim is an avid amateur photographer and enjoys a good book.
PhD - Chemical Engineering / Nanotechnology, Vanier Scholar
Zac was previously with Waterloo start-ups Alchemy and Nicoya Lifesciences and was a Junior Fellow with Engineers Without Borders Canada. Zac leads business development and partnerships activities for H2nanO. In his free time, Zac can be found cycling or exploring new music.
BASc - Nanotechnology Engineering, Loran Scholar
Stuart has a strong background in nanomaterials design and project management, and is responsible for H2nanO’s financial operations. He has been a part of Dr. Gu's research group since 2010. Stuart enjoys participating in choral and jazz music in his free time.
PhD Candidate - Chemical Engineering / Nanotechnology, Vanier Scholar
Brad is an expert in water treatment engineering, with experience as an industrial wastewater specialist at GHD and graduate researcher in biofiltration technology. He leads H2nanO’s process engineering and projects team. Outside of the office, Brad enjoys making music in the studio, and the kitchen too.
MASc - Civil and Environmental Engineering
H2nanO is situated in the entrepreneurial corridor of Kitchener-Waterloo-Toronto, with access to the top talent from the University of Waterloo, Canada’s leading university for nanotechnology and water research. Our peers and mentors in the high tech start-up space are cornerstones to growing our skills and supporting our mission.
